About D-BOX

Demining ToolBOX for humanitarian clearing of large scale areas from antipersonnel landmines and cluster munitions.

D-BOX started in 2013 as a 3-year FP7 with 20 partners from 11 EU Member States, and a budget of ~10M EUR. D-BOX will integrate existing solutions for the process of clearing landmines and cluster munitions by developing a comprehensive toolbox and a roadmap for its implementation.

The operational needs and priorities for the D-BOX developments have been expressed by the humanitarian demining community represented by:

The planned contribution includes the establishment of a comprehensive demining toolbox and the development and improvement of existing and novel tools (non exhaustive):

All these parts will be supported by a series of demonstrations to evaluate performances and to the establishment of a roadmap for its development and implementation. Astri Polska is managing the organisation of the demonstrations (first one in Poland in May 2015 and second in Italy in 2016) and dissemination of project results to interested audiences.
