(JUpiter ICy moons Explorer)

 

JUICE – (JUpiter ICy moons Explorer) – is the first large-class mission in ESA’s Cosmic Vision 2015-2025 program. Planned for launch in 2022 and arrival at Jupiter in 2030, it will spend at least three years making detailed observations of the giant gaseous planet Jupiter and three of its largest moons, Ganymede, Callisto and Europa. The prime contractor of the project is Airbus Defence and Space.

Role of Astri Polska in the project: Astri Polska is responsible for design and production of the following solutions:

  • Real Time Simulation (RTS) – development of an implementation and validation software (a part of mission validation system)  which will allow give an overview of the satellite equipment performance.
  • Simulation Front End (SimFE) – designing, testing and producing an electrical device which will  allow to test electrical systems of the spacecraft before sending it into space.

Timeframe: 2016-2019
