Astri Polska has finalized a test environment for the space-grade GNSS receivers developed within the ESA’s FLIGhT project. On 7th of February, the final review was approved and the FLIGhT software officially started working as a standard ESA tool in the ESTEC European Navigation Laboratory (ENL) in Noordvijk, the Netherlands. Astri Polska, in cooperation with the University of Warmia and Masuria in Olsztyn, Poland, will develop and create an environment for GNSS antenna calibration. At the beginning of January, the consortium embarked on the implementation of the GRAVEr project. The project, financed by the European Space Agency, will allow Polish businesses to acquire key competences in a field that currently presents a market niche.   Astri Polska joins the THEOS-2 programme which aims to develop two Earth observations satellites for the government of Thailand. The solutions developed by the Warsaw-based company will support testing of the onboard computer of one of the satellites, scheduled to be launched in 2020.   The purpose of the THEOS-2 programme is to develop two Earth observation satellites for Thailand’s government - the high-resolution satellite and a small satellite system. The high-resolution satellite will be delivered by Airbus Defence and Space when the small satellite system from Surrey Satellite Technology  (Airbus subsidiary) will be assembled and tested in Thailand by local engineers as a part of the technology transfer. In October, Astri Polska finalized the satellite river-ice monitoring system. The role of the service is to deliver up to date information about the current situation on the rivers and help to avoid the floods. The solutions were developed within the ESA and World Bank EO4EP programme.  The ice-jams are one of the main reasons for the floods in Poland in the winter season. The system developed by Astri Polska allows to monitor the rive-ice and divide it into 3 categories. - Our system’s use of the free-of-charge data, derived from the European “Copernicus” satellite EO programme is its major advantage.
