Position:

Head of Operations

You would be in charge of the management of Operations Division in Astri Polska, which encompasses:

•   plan and monitor resources needs and allocation to ensure smooth progress of the projects based on inputs provided by project managers;
•   define and implement new processes to improve ways of working, operational efficiencies in the department and in the company in general;
•   identify patterns and problem areas, and implement effective solutions to increase efficiency;
•   develop quality mindset;
•   maintain existing skills of his/her team and develop new ones if necessary;
•   secure and develop key resources and talents for the department and ensure know how transfer in case of turnover;
•   manage a team of 30-35 employees with 5-6 direct team leaders (Software, Hardware, Manufacturing, Test and validation, Optical design);
•   interact with the Management Board to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals;
•   ensure that the business is run in line with regulations;
•   ensure that safety, security standards are applied in the department;
•   prepare and monitor operational budget with the support of the finance department;
•   be in daily contact with the Head of Programs to monitor projects tasks versus available resources;
•   setup performance metrics and reports for the operations team.

This is what we do need from you:

•   proven experience as Director of Operations (5-10years) in automotive, electronics, aeronautics, space, robotics or other similar industry;
•   higher technical education;
•   excellent organizational and leadership abilities;
•   outstanding communication and people skills;
•   technical background and general knowledge in SW/HW/Engineering and Mechanical/Optical design;
•   quality and improvement knowledge and mindset;
•   an analytical mindset with great problem-solving abilities;
•   business oriented with basic financial knowledge (P&L, revenues, costs, WIP, hourly rates);
•   a very good knowledge of English (read, written, spoken) allows for easy communication – a prerequisite;

but we would also appreciate any of the following:

•    experience in space industry and with European Space Agency more particularly will be a plus;
•   French will be taken as an important value added.
