The aim of the project ANCHOR is to deliver “The Captain Assistant system for Navigation and Routing during Operations in Harbor” in order to increase the safety of ships movement inside the harbor and to analyse the inuence of the cargo vessels’ trac on the coastal area of the Baltic Sea. The system is directed to the professionals responsible for supervising the safety (both people and environment) in the coastal area of harbors.
Pilot Assist Sub-system (PAS)
Within PAS, the Ship Module will transmit the information via the Internal radio communication modem to the Pilot Terminal. The Ship Module will be installed on the ship captain bridge. This Module will contain a 2 antennas GNSS module (GPS, Glonass, plus EGNOS and Galileo ready options), integrated INS, battery pack, control unit within special waterproof cover. Such solution assures accurate and reliable ship localization and orientation in any area. The Ship Module will be easy to install and operates without charging for over 4 hours. The Pilot Terminal will be a tablet/laptop on which dedicated software will be implemented, helping the Ship Pilot to navigate in the harbor. The trajectory and the speed data of the ship will be transmitted to the Harbor Server for checking the influence of the traffic in the coastal area around the harbor.
Communication sub-system (CS)
Internal communication will assure the local data transfer between the Ship Module and the Pilot Terminal by Wi-Fi with a range of 20-70 meters. The Long Range Communication sub-system assures the link between two main parts of the Anchor system: the PAS and the Harbor Infrastructure.
Harbor infrastructure (HI)
Harbor infrastructure in the Anchor project will consist two main parts: Server and Environment Measurements NET. On theServer the visualization, the analyses and the actualization will be established. In addition, the archiving module and the required databases will be located here, too. Finally the server will ensure the online access to the digital maps, GIS and GMES data, weather online services and local measurements network. The Environment Measurement NET will allow to monitor the temperature, rain fall, wind, humidity, water conditions and currents, will also provide live video streaming from the docks.
